I have 4 rolls. I used 1. I lent 1. I shot 1.
How many rolls do I have?
Think about it… It’s not as easy as it sounds.
The correct answer is: 2 rolls
Let’s see why:
- You have 4 at the beginning.
- You used 1 → it’s still yours, you’re using it.
- You lent 1 → you no longer have it (someone else has it).
- You threw away 1 → lost it.
Then:
- You have the used one, and another that was neither borrowed nor thrown away.
Final result: 2 rolls.
Why do so many people fail?
Because we tend to read quickly and assume that “I used”, “loaned” and “threw away” are actions that completely eliminate the object. But using does not mean losing.
